Men's Columbia Silver Ridge Utility Cargo Short-Tusk

Men's Columbia Silver Ridge Utility Cargo Shorts made of comfortable 100% recycled polyester. Thanks to the use of Omni-Wick™ technology, they are also quick-drying and excellent at wicking away moisture. Omni-Shade™ sun filters protect your skin at UPF 50. The shorts have a number of pockets where you can store everything you would like to have at hand. There are capacious cargo pockets on the legs. There are two pockets on the back of the seat, one of which is fastened with Velcro. In addition, the shorts have standard hand pockets.

Columbia Sportswear Omni-Shade garments protect against harmful radiation by blocking the sun's dangerous rays. Omni-Shade blocks ultraviolet A and B rays (UVA and UVB), helping to prevent sunburn and, in the long term, skin damage due to its dense weave construction, UV reflectors and UV absorbing technology.

The situation is different in the case of SPF (Sun Protection Factor), a measure of sunburn reduction due to the use of a filter, which does not specify any protection against UVB rays. UVB rays are much more harmful than UVA and reach us even on cloudy days. Omni-Shade technology provides protection against both UVB and UVA rays.

As with the filter, Omni-Shade technology has a specific numerical value that determines the level of sun protection. Unlike a filter, Omni-Shade technology does not wear out. The level of safety increases with a higher Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) and several levels of Omni-Shade protection are available: UPF 15, UPF 30, UPF 40 and UPF 50+. It's like a sunscreen, but you don't have to reapply it.
